Azure Data Engineer – Fintech Domain

💼 Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to join our Fintech team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and implementing cloud-based data pipelines and architectures using Microsoft Azure services, with a strong focus on financial services data such as transaction records, customer analytics, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion, transformation, and storage pipelines using Azure services.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and data scientists to deliver robust, secure, and high-performance data solutions in a Fintech context.
  • Implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Databricks.
  • Handle streaming data using Azure Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, and Kafka (if applicable).
  • Optimize and manage data lakes, SQL-based warehouses, and NoSQL storage (e.g., Cosmos DB).
  • Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and security using tools like Azure Purview, Data Catalog, and Key Vault.
  • Implement and monitor CI/CD pipelines for data workloads using Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business teams to translate business requirements into data models and workflows.

📌 Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with at least 3 years on Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Databricks, and Azure Functions.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and/or Python for data transformation and analysis.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance practices.
  • Exposure to Fintech use cases like credit scoring, anti-money laundering (AML), fraud analytics, or transaction monitoring is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, or SOC 2 is a plus.
