About the Job: This is a full-time onsite role for a VMC Operator at a leading manufacturing firm. The role involves setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centers to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols to determine machining requirements.
- Program, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software.
- Select cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures necessary for machining operations.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust parameters to maintain quality and productivity.
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Document all production activities for reference.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machining preferred.
- Proven experience as a VMC Operator with proficiency in CNC machines.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
- Experience with CAM software for programming and simulation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
